Twist Ending!
Ashes to Ashes Series finale, turned out to be just he finale for Series 2, and the once hinted at but long forgotten(in my head) third series is a go. Next year I will be once again sucked in, because Series 2 was better on the whole over Series 1, which given how good Life on Mars was (and still is) had a lot to live up to. Series 2 felt like its own show, out of the shadows of LoM, and with Keeley Hawes doing a much better job as Alex, and the stories working much much better with the cop conspiracy storylines.
The twist ending though was fantastic. Just as suspected Alex finds her way back to 2008, and awakes from the gunshot wound. After finally seeing her daughter again, she is pulled back into Gene's world as his face appears on every moniter in the hospital yelling at her as if she is in the coma from 1982. Fuck. So now I'm once again roped into another series of Ashes to Ashes with another killer twist ending that leaves me wanting more...but much more so this time than last. Its already been stated by the writers that the third series will tell us just who Gene Hunt really is, which has been on my mind, given the fact that both Alex and Sam wound up under his leadership after an accident. Can't Wait.
